Job Description

Hi, I’m Nick Guardino, Head of Marketing Operations at Customer.io!

We’re looking for a Marketing Operations Specialist who’s excited about building systems, solving complex problems, and helping scale our go-to-market engine. This role is at the heart of how we connect tools, automate processes, and make data accessible across the organization.

As a Marketing Operations Specialist, you’ll work closely with our Growth and RevOps teams to operationalize campaigns, manage integrations, and optimize our tech stack for speed and reliability. Whether you’re building no-code workflows, wiring up new tools, or writing lightweight scripts, your work will directly power how we acquire, engage, and retain customers.

To thrive in this role, you’ll need strong technical instincts, a builder’s mindset, and a passion for operational excellence. You’ll be the go-to person for making things “just work”—but in a way that scales and lasts. If you’re energized by automation, data integrity, and helping high-growth teams move faster with better tools, we’d love to hear from you.

Some things you’ll do

  • Build Robust No-Code Automations: Own the design and implementation of multi-step automations that power core marketing and sales workflows. Leverage tools like Customer.io, Salesforce Flows, and N8n to build robust, scalable automations that incorporate things like logic branching, API calls, retries and error handling—ensuring reliable operations across our GTM stack.
  • Tech Stack Administration: Ensure seamless functionality across all platforms for optimal data flow and accessibility. This includes build new processes, and troubleshooting errors in tools like Salesforce, Salesloft, Customer.io, Snowflake, Google Analytics, Airtable, Zapier, N8n and more!
  • New Tool Integration: Lead the implementation and integration of new platforms into our tech stack. Connect systems via APIs, map data fields, and configure sync logic to ensure seamless data flow between tools.
  • Data Analytics and Data Integrity: Maintain rigorous data analysis and auditing practices to uphold data integrity. Implement and refine processes and integrations to improve overall marketing operational efficiency.
  • Work Collaboratively with multiple teams: Collaborate closely with the sales, product, customer success, and other marketing teams to ensure marketing efforts support overall business objectives

Nice to Have’s

  • AI Proficiency: You’ll regularly use AI to support your own technical work—whether that’s debugging code, refining workflows, or surfacing relevant solutions through well-crafted prompts. Beyond individual use, you should have a solid understanding of where AI is the right solution to solve business needs—versus when traditional, code-based approaches are more appropriate. (Think: unstructured vs. structured data, non-deterministic vs. deterministic logic.)
  • Script Writing for Operational Tasks: Write lightweight, purpose-built scripts to automate one-off or recurring tasks—like batch data processing, API calls from CSVs, or data restructuring—to support ad hoc project needs and increase team efficiency.

What we’re looking for

  • 2-4 years in Revenue Operations, Marketing Operations, CX Operations or Sales Operations (Ideally at a B2B SaaS company)
  • 2+ years working in a fast-growing start-up environment where a growth mindset, adaptability and a drive for continuous improvement are valued.
  • High Technological Proficiency in CRM and database management systems (e.g., Salesforce, Snowflake), integration architecture and process building.
  • Demonstrated capability in handling integrations, including APIs, webhooks, no-code automators (such as Zapier, N8n Postman etc).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a history of using automation to address complex issues.
  • Experience in data handling, including analytics, database management and SQL.
  • Ability to independently manage projects and contribute to team goals while maintaining detailed documentation and adhering to internal project management methodologies.
  • Experience in managing Google Analytics and other similar web analytics tools
