Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Data Specialist (~32 hours per week) with a strong focus on data entry to join our team.  The ideal candidate will have basic knowledge of ADP, any ERP system, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. This role is critical to ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance within organizational and legal standards.

Responsibilities

  • Data Entry and Maintenance
    • Review and input employee master data into ADP and Deltek Costpoint, ensuring compliance with company policy as well as local, state and federal regulations.
    • Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Employee Support
    • Address basic payroll-related inquiries from employees and escalate complex issues as needed.
    • Support the onboarding process by ensuring new hire payroll data is entered correctly.
  • Systems Utilization
    • Work with ADP and an ERP system to manage payroll data and generate reports as needed.
    • Leverage Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook) for data management and communication.
  • Compliance and Reporting
    • Ensure payroll processes align with company policies and government regulations.
    • Assist with preparing and distributing payroll reports for management and auditing purposes.
  • Other Duties as Requested

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of ADP payroll systems.
  • Deltek Costpoint a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Word).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Basic understanding of payroll principles and compliance requirements.

Preferred Skills

  • Previous experience in a payroll or administrative role.
  • Basic knowledge of payroll rules and regulations.
  • Experience handling sensitive and confidential information.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred but not mandatory.
